This morning tens of thousands of people are putting their best foot forward, at a variety of different speeds, in the name of sport and charity.
The 2015 Virgin London Marathon is taking place now, Sunday April 26, and approaching 40,000 people are on their way from Blackheath to The Mall to cover the 26.2 mile course.
Some have already made it. Brentford FC Head of Medical Neil Greig is among those still on the streets of London, fighting through the pain barrier.
Neil is raising money for Havens Hospices, a charity that provides respite and care for adults and children at the end of their lives.
He has already passed his initial £4,000 target and is now seeking to raise £6,000.
