Moses Odubajo said he hoped Brentford’s attacking style would work well in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Bees won promotion from League One last season playing an attacking style under Mark Warburton.
Moses joined Brentford from Leyton Orient in the close season and said the squad were confident they could do well this season.
The Bees ended their pre-season schedule with a win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Moses spoke to Bees Player: Match Day Live after the win, Brentford’s fourth in five friendlies, and said everyone was ready.
“Everyone in the camp knows how the manager wants us to play,” he said.
“We feel comfortable with the ball, even in risky areas.
“We always look to go forward.
“We hope the attacking style works for us this season.
“The attitude has been spot on.
“Everyone wants to play and we are all confident we can do well this season.
“The management and coaching staff give us the backing we need, which is good.
“We are getting what we need out of these pre-season games and we are ready to go now.”
Brentford took a 2-0 lead against Palace on Saturday but were pegged back.
Moses scored the winner when Jonathan Douglas spread the play and he controlled it on his chest on the right, lifted it over Joel Ward and headed towards the box before cutting inside Scott Dann and slotting home.
“When I put the ball over his head my first thought was to pass,” explained Moses.
“No-one was coming towards me, I took another touch, I went inside and the goal opened up.
“I wasn’t going to pass from there.”
Moses scored 12 goals in 57 games for Orient last term but said he had not set himself a goal to repeat or beat that.
“I haven’t got targets,” he said.
“If the team does well, that is all the matters to me.
“A high finish would be success.
“We also don’t want long term injuries and for everyone to do well.”
