Moses Odubajo said Brentford’s players had taken confidence from their 3-2 Sky Bet Championship win over Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Bees made it three wins in four league games with the Griffin Park victory.
Moses scored the first goal and Andre Gray turned in the second soon after.
Brighton pulled one back before half time but Jonathan Douglas made it 3-1 and that gave Brentford the win despite the visitors scoring again.
Moses, speaking after the match, said Brentford’s belief in their ability to be a Championship side was growing every week.
“This win has given us more self-belief,” he told Bees Player.
“We have seen today we can do it.
“Everyone is more confident and everyone is happy.
“Any team coming up would be the same.
“It is a process of building that belief.
“You understand the league every game, we are adapting to the pace of the league and learning game by game.
“It was a good performance.
“We knew it would be a footballing game, we had to do well with the ball or we would have been punished.
“It must have been a brilliant game to watch.
“It was high tempo; there was no stopping, which was tough.
“We dug in and held on.”
Brighton could have been ahead early on.
The visitors hit the post and had other chances but Moses got the first goal and Brentford built from there.
“We have to give credit to Brighton for the way they started,” said Moses.
“They are a good footballing team.
“They are known for their style and we had to adapt to their shape.
“After the first 15 minutes we adapted well.
“The goal gave confidence to me and the team.
“It made us believe the game was ours.”
Moses got his goal just after James Tarkowski had cleared an effort from Sam Baldock off the line.
Brentford broke immediately and scored.
“It all started on the other side,” said Moses.
“I was staying wide.
“Alan Judge got the ball and all the space was inside, the defender was staying so tight.
“Judgey, credit to him, played a great ball, I got there first and finished it.
“It is a special feeling but the job wasn’t done.
“I want to score more and help the team.”
Moses said Brentford tried to stay positive after conceding just before the break.
“We had to stay positive,” he said.
“We were still winning and had played good football.
“We conceded a silly goal but dug in.
“The next goal was massively important, we got it.”
The win was Brentford’s first at Griffin Park this season.
“We have got the ball rolling,” said Moses.
“Hopefully we can look forward to many more.”
