Simon Moore said Brentford players had already shifted their focus to the challenges coming up after the 0-0 draw with Walsall.
The Bees were held at home by Walsall despite creating enough chances to win.
Simon said the players were disappointed but were looking ahead to the 14 remaining games that would decide the season.
“We are all disappointed,” said the goalkeeper, speaking to Bees Player after the match.
“It is very much two points dropped.
“We felt confident we could win but it didn’t work out like that.
“It is important we don’t get too down.
“We have 14 games left and we have to concentrate on them.
“Every game will be like a cup final.
“We have a good enough squad to be up there.
“It is important we don’t dwell on it and focus on what comes next.”
Brentford created numerous chances, particularly in the first half, but could not score.
They did, however, not concede and ensured they took something rom the game.
It was Brentford’s second npower League One clean sheet in a row after a run of conceding nine goals in four league matches.
“In the first half we had a few good chances and if we had put them away it would have been a different game,” said Simon.
“At the start of the season we had it a few times where we didn’t get the goals and we were punished.
“We held firm today and ground out a clean sheet.
“We now have two clean sheets in the last two league games.
“Before that we were shipping two goals a game.
“That was disappointing, particularly for me as a goalkeeper.
“I look at every goal and see where I can improve; I feel I could have done better with a few of the goals we conceded.
“I am still young and learning and I am doing my best to improve.”
Brentford travel to Crawley on Tuesday night and Simon said it was good to have another game so soon.
The Bees have lost just twice in 18 npower League One matches but have only won one of their last six and Simon said they needed to go on a winning run.
“It is definitely good that we have that game,” he said.
“At this stage of the season you just want to keep playing.
“You want to get points on the board.
“We need to put a good run together if we want to be up there at the end of the season.
“It’s best to focus on your own job.
“If we do the right things we will be up there at the end of the season.”
