Nottingham Forest v Brentford Saturday 2nd April 2016 The City Ground Kick-off: 3pm
The season so far
Nottingham Forest have only tasted victory in one of their previous eight games which has seen them drop to 15th position in the table. After an unbeaten league January Forest have picked up just seven points from their last eight matches. Forest's last success was a 1-0 home win over Preston North End in March but you have to go back to mid-January for another home win, this time coming against the league's bottom club Bolton Wanderers.
Forest have failed to score in five of their last eight matches and interim boss Paul Williams, who enjoyed a spell at Brentford this season as Lee Carsley's number two, moved to remedy that shortfall bringing in striker Federico Macheda on loan from Cardiff City last month. The Italian striker joins Gary Gardner as the only additions from when the two sides last met at Griffin Park back in November.
The Gaffer
Paul Williams replaced the departing Dougie Freedman on March 13th and has seen his side draw one and lose one of his opening two matches. Forest failed to build on the point they picked up against Hull City last time out, losing the big East Midlands derby 1-0 to Williams' former side Derby. Paul – who had a lengthy playing career with Derby County, Coventry City and Southampton among others – began his coaching career with Wolverhampton Wanderers before making his name during a successful five year spell with Southampton's Academy. The former England Under-21 International joined Brentford in the summer of 2015 and coupled his role with The Bees alongside working with the England Under-16s squad.
