Brentford Manager Mark Warburton looked ahead to Saturday’s match with Reading insisting that the Play-Off race had plenty twists and turns.
“We’re frustrated that we’ve dropped points, such as Derby when we were clearly in control of a good quality game, likewise at Sheffield Wednesday and last week,” said Mark.
“We recognise mistakes have been made and points have been dropped but we’re right in this now, and I still think there are twists and turns between now and the end of the season, so our focus is 78 points and see where it leaves us.”
Brentford face a Reading side that has recently missed out on the FA Cup Final and were beaten 1-0 in midweek by Birmingham City with the goal scored by ex-Bee Clayton Donaldson.
“What we noticed with Reading is they change their formation from week to week, and they do change their personnel quite regularly,” said Mark.
“Steve [Clarke, Reading manager] has had to deal with the FA Cup and the backlog of fixtures, so again we’ll look at their squad, their team sheet at two o’clock and have a clearer idea of what they are doing.
“We’re well aware of the strengths and weaknesses of the Reading squad.
“At the same time, we have to focus on ourselves, whatever formation you’re playing; it’s about us doing our best.
“If we do that, we look a good side, and that’s our focus.”
Mark praised his side’s fitness given the demands that have been put upon them this season.
“At this stage of the season the boys fitness levels are very good,” said Mark.
“It’s about getting the right balance between rest and recovery and good work on the training pitch.”
