Mark Warburton gave his verdict on the 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town that keeps Brentford in a Play-Off spot.
“We knew they would come out fast today, which they did do,” said Mark.
“Ipswich pressed us all over the park, we had to long on some occasions, which is not what we do well.
“They had the upper hand in the first 15 to 20 minutes, but we took the sting out a little bit and started to move the ball,- I think we did that very well.
“They are a physical threat, we knew that.
“As the game went on, we got stronger and stronger.”
He assessed the last ten games of the season, in which his side will only play one game against a team in the current top eight of the Championship – away to Derby County on April 11.
“We’re on the home stretch now, the last ten games,” said Mark
“We face a trip to Derby before the end of the season, and that’s the last of our top eight games, so the message to the players is just do what you do.
“If we come to a game and impose ourselves in a respectful way, we know we can dominate the game, so that’s the message: prepare yourselves, rest well and train well.
“Everything now is how we focus on delivering performances; it’s getting that message right to a talented group of players.”
Mark spoke about Alan Judge’s battle for fitness, having played an hour at Portman Road following his recovery from a knee injury sustained against Brighton and Hove Albion in January.
“He’s had the injections on the knee, he had a whack on the ankle just before half time, but the knee is strong,” said Mark.
“The fourth injection did a good job, tightened everything up, which gives the player piece of mind.
“Don’t forget he was out for a few weeks and at this level, it does take time to come back and impact the game.
“He’s an outstanding player, great quality, energy, infectious in the way he plays the game, but it will take a couple of weeks for him to get back into what we know he can do.”
