Mark Burridge has agreed to become the lead commentator on Bees Player until the summer of 2017.
Mark has worked on Bees Player as a volunteer commentator for many years.
Since early 2011 he has worked with Luis Melville on an excellent match day radio show available exclusively to Bees Player subscribers.
The Club entered negotiations to pay Mark and Luis for their work for the 2014/15 season but were unable to conclude these before the start of the season.
BBC London 94.9FM stepped in to the breach for the first weeks of the season and Brentford FC would like to thank them for doing so.
The Club can now confirm that terms have been agreed with Mark to resume his work on Bees Player.
When Mark is unable to attend fixtures, Billy Reeves will step in and cover for him.
Mark Devlin, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: “I am very pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement with Mark to continue working for us.
“Both Mark and Luis have worked very hard on behalf of the Club over the past few years.
“The Club offered a retrospective contribution to the pair towards their 2013/14 expenses and they have, very generously, asked for this to be given to charity.”
Chris Wickham, Head of Media and Communications, added: “The Club has been well aware of the feelings of some supporters regarding our match day commentary.
“Even though we have said little publically we have been working to come to a solution that suited all.
“I am glad we now have a commentary arrangement in place and the Club will continue to provide a service to be proud of.
“Mark has always been a pleasure to work with and superb on Bees Player, I am sure that will continue.”
Mark Burridge said: “I am delighted that we have been able come to an arrangement that I believe will be very good for Bees Player subscribers.
“I have very much enjoyed commentating for the past decades and I look forward to bringing Bees fans around the world some exciting moments over the next few years.
“The Club were keen to recognise the efforts put in by those who commentate and work for Bees Player and even though it took a little while to reach a conclusion, with give and take on all sides, I am pleased one has been reached.
“I would also like to personally thank Luis for all his work over the past years.”
Mark will start as lead commentator on Tuesday, September 16, when Brentford face Norwich City at Griffin Park.
Coverage will usually start half an hour before kick-off and include pre-match discussion, half time analysis and post-match interviews.
