A second half strike from substitute Myles Hippolyte was not enough to give Brentford's Development Squad a win against Maidenhead United.
The Youth Team striker gave The Bees the lead 11 minutes in to the second half after good work by trialist Christian Tavernier.
But a farcical defensive slip-up let Lee Barney equalise for the hosts eight minutes later and they took a share of the spoils.
It was a much improved display by Brentford compared to last week's defeat against Banbury United and a draw was the least they deserved for a fine first half showing.
It was an entertaining contest and the Blue Square Bet South side were able to stretch Brentford at times, particularly after they levelled.
But The Bees also attacked well and there could have been more than the two goals the 90 minutes produced.
A Brentford team containing Youth Team players and trialists started well - Luke Norris had an early shot blocked and Josh Clarke, who regularly joined the attack from right back, saw a low cross deflect in to the arms of goalkeeper Billy Lumley.
The best chance of the opening stages came at the other end when a corner was half cleared and Reece Tison-Lascaris fired in a volley that brought a superb save out of Matt Gledhill.
An error from Norris, who lost the ball in his own defensive third, almost set up a chance for David Pratt but an offside flag pulled the Maidenhead striker back.
Trialist Casey Thomas had a great chance to score after he picked up a Jordan Smith pass but he was denied by Lumley and the striker saw a shot deflect wide soon after before he was unable to turn in a Norris cross.
Daniel Brown sliced a shot wide for Maidenhead and Sam Griffiths made an important clearance from a Tison-Lascaris cross, but Brentford had the better of it going in to the break.
Lumley had to back-peddle to hold on to a 70 yard shot from Smith, Norris couldn't get a shot away when well placed and Thomas faced the same difficulty soon after.
Clarke forced a save out of Lumley with a low shot and Tavernier missed the target as Brentford ended the half well.
They continued where they left off after the break - Aaron Pierre missed the target with an overhead after his first shot was saved and Jack Hutchinson saw a shot deflect wide before they went ahead.
Tavernier clipped a ball through the middle and Hippolyte raced on to it before finishing low past Lumley.
Maidenhead responded well and almost equalised when a Pratt shot was blocked while substitute goalkeeper Joe Martin also denied Brown and Harry Pritchard's powerful effort was smothered by Thomas.
The hosts equalised in bizarre fashion - Clarke almost set up a goal for The Bees with a fine run but Thomas' shot was blocked and the ball was cleared, Barney got to it ahead of Martin and lifted the ball towards goal from 50 yards, Griffiths took a too casual attitude to clearing it, miss-controlled it and the ball rolled over the line.
Smith fired a free kick over for Brentford but Maidenhead grew stronger as the game drew to a close.
Martin denied Anthony Thomas, who then blazed over and Richard Pacquette smacked a shot against the post from 20 yards.
Pacquette fired in to the side netting and Thomas shot over but Maidenhead could not find a winner despite their pressure.
Barney almost snatched it in the last seconds with a low shot but Martin kept it out and earned his side a draw.
