Speaking to iFollow Brentford, Mads said: “It has started very well and I am really enjoying being here. I have settled in very well with Kevin O’Connor and the group and they are taking care of me. It’s been perfect with the three wins out of three since I joined. They have been some very good matches. It has been high-quality and we have played very well.”
The physical, left-sided defender made his first-team debut aged 16 in the Danish second tier with Horsens and feels that he is well suited to English football from what he has seen so far.
“I like the way that the team plays,” said Mads. “I feel that I am fitting in really well and I like to play the kind of football that we are playing. English football has been what I expected. It is very fast and a bit more physical.”
Already this season, the B Team have played Chelsea, Everton, Benfica, and Southampton, winning all of them. Mads said the lure of playing this calibre of team with Brentford B was one of the big things that attracted him to the club.
“They are big games and I think it is great for the young players to play those big matches,” explained Mads. “It gives us a lot of experience and we can learn a lot from them. These big games helped to convince me to join here. I was looking for game-time, not just sitting on the bench, and that has been a big influence on joining.”
