Development Squad defender Alfie Mawson helped Wycombe to their seventh league game unbeaten with a 1-0 with over Cambridge United on Saturday.
The only goal of the game came when former Brentford players Sam Wood and Paul Hayes combined and Hayes netted from close range just after the hour.
Wycombe had chances to extend their lead but in the end one goal was all they needed as they moved up to second in the Sky Bet League Two table, a point behind leaders Burton Albion.
Alfie has played every minute of league football for The Chairboys this season, helping to keep five clean sheets in their opening ten matches.
He will be hoping to continue that run on Saturday as Gareth Ainsworth's side host Northampton Town at Adams Park.
Also in action on Saturday was striker Will Grigg who played the last half hour in MK Dons 3-2 defeat away at Bristol City.
Before the match City and The Dons occupied the top two spots in Sky Bet League One and the game didn't disappoint.
City raced into a 2-0 half-time lead thanks to two Kieran Agard strikes but goals from Dean Bowditch and Benik Afobe levelled matters with just under 20 minutes remaining.
However City were not to be denied and they scored the decisive goal a minute later as Wade Elliot stroked home from just inside the box.
Will and The Dons will be hoping for a better result on Saturday when they make the long trip to the South West to face Yeovil Town.
