Will Grigg and Alfie Mawson both enjoyed winning starts to their loan spells on the opening day of the new Football season.
Will, who joined MK Dons on a season-long loan in July, got on the scoresheet as The Dons came from 2-0 down to beat Gillingham 4-2 at Stadium:MK.
Cody McDonald and Danny Kedwell put the Kent side 2-0 ahead after just half an hour.
A Kortney Hause own goal made it 2-1 before the break and Will made it 2-2 with 20 minutes to go, heading home from Danny Green's centre.
The Brentford man's goal sparked a run of three goals in five minutes as Kyle McFadzean made it 3-2 and a Leon Legge own goal completed the scoring to get the Buckinghamshire side off to a winning start.
Alfie Mawson also got his month-long loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers off to a winning start as he helped The Chairboys to a 2-0 win at Newport County.
Alongside former Bees Paul Hayes, Aaron Pierre and Sam Wood, Alfie played the 90 minutes as Wycombe won thanks to two goals just before half-time through Peter Murphy and Paris Cowan-Hall.
Speaking to BBC Three Counties Radio after the match Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth was full of praise for the Brentford man.
"What a debut for Alfie Mawson," said Gareth.
"He slotted in really well alongside Aaron (Pierre).
"I thought he had an outstanding debut if I'm honest."
Also out on loan is Development Squad goalkeeper Mark Smith who was unable to prevent Hitchin Town slipping to a 2-0 defeat against Corby Town in their opening Southern Premier Division encounter on Saturday.
Mark joined Hitchin on Friday and made a number of crucial first-half saves to send the two sides in level at the break.
However, the Development Squad player, was eventually beaten from the penalty spot midway through the half and Corby wrapped up the win on 73 minutes as Wilson Carvalo headed home a left wing cross.
All three of the Brentford loanees could be in action tomorrow night as MK Dons take on AFC Wimbledon and Wycombe travel to Millwall in the Capital One Cup while Hitchin Town travel to Banbury United in the Southern Premier Division.
