Charlie Adams set-up Stevenage's winner as they beat high flying Burton Albion 1-0 at The Lamex Stadium on Saturday to move up to 15th in Sky Bet League Two.
Adams' 84th minutes shot was deflected into his own net by defender Ian Sharps to give Graham Westley's side the three points.
It was the midfielder's third game of an initial one month loan spell with the Sky Bet League Two club with Stevenage winning two of those three games.
Also on loan at Stevenage is Josh Clarke and he was an unused substitute for the game against The Brewers.
That win for Stevenage allowed Alfie Mawson and his Wycombe teammates to retain second spot in League Two after a 1-1 draw at home to Dagenham and Redbridge.
The Chairboys fell behind on the hour to Jamie Cureton's strike but Peter Murphy scored with seven minutes remaining to ensure a share of the spoils.
Alfie has played every minute of the league season so far for Wycombe as they have conceded just 11 goals in 15 league games.
In Sky Bet League One Will Grigg played 70 minutes as MK Dons drew 0-0 away at Doncaster Rovers to stretch their unbeaten run to four games.
Will came close to opening the scoring early on but his header was saved by Jed Steer.
The Northern-Irish striker has played 14 times for The Dons this season scoring six goals.
