Luke Norris scored his first goal for Boreham Wood in a New Year’s Day draw with Staines Town.
The Development Squad striker is on loan at the Hertfordshire side and made his fifth appearance in the Blue Square Bet South clash.
He scored the opening goal of the game in the second half and could have had a couple more but Staines equalised late on and earned a point in a 1-1 draw, the same score as when the sides met on Boxing Day.
The draw meant Boreham Wood have slipped to fifth in the Blue Square Bet South table.
Alfie Mawson was also in Blue Square South action on New Year’s Day.
The Development Squad central defender is on loan at the Berkshire club and made his fourth appearance in a match against Hayes and Yeading United.
Maidenhead drew 1-1 with Hayes on Boxing Day, thanks to a last minute goal, but were beaten 2-0 in the return match.
Former Brentford Development Squad midfield player Josh Ekim opened the scoring early on and Hayes scored a second in stoppage time.
Maidenhead are currently 12th in a very tight Blue Square Bet South table.
Development Squad defender Sam Griffiths played 90 minutes for Ryman Premier League Carshalton Athletic against Metropolitan Police in another New Year’s Day match.
Sam made his third appearance for the Surrey side in the heart of the defence and helped them to a 1-1 draw.
Brentford scholar Josh Clarke was also in the Carshalton team, starting on the right of midfield.
Carshalton went ahead late in the first half but Metropolitan Police equalised soon after and neither team could find a second half winner.
Carshalton remain bottom of the Ryman Premier League but are closing on the teams above them.
Josh is in the second year of a two-year scholarship but qualifies for the Club’s Under-21 side due to his age and is at Carshalton on a work experience deal.
Tyrell Miller-Rodney and Sam Beale are with Northwood, of the Evo-Stick Southern League Central Division, on the same work experience basis.
Northwood were due to play AFC Hayes on New Year’s Day but the match was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
Brentford’s final loanee in action on New Year’s Day was Leon Legge.
The central defender signed for Gillingham on loan as the January Transfer Window opened with a view to heading to Kent permanently later in the month.
He made his debut for the npower League Two side against Southend United.
Gillingham scored an early goal and Leon helped the Kent side keep a clean sheet and pick up three points.
The Gills are back on top of League Two, two points ahead of Port Vale.
