It was a tough weekend for Brentford's four loanees out around the country as only Herson Rodrigues Alves' Hampton and Richmond Borough picked up three points in their latest round of matches.
Herson was an unused substitute for Borough as they beat Billericay Town 1-0, thanks to a first-half goal from Nicke Kabamba. The win means Hampton stay tenth in the Ryman Premier League, four points off the play-off places ahead of Tuesday's league trip to Dulwich Hamlet.
Also in the Ryman Premier League Nik Tzanev played the 90 minutes for Lewes as they were beaten 5-1 by Brentwood Town. Things started badly for Lewes as they found themselves behind after five minutes and they got worse as they missed a penalty and then conceded a second before the break. The hosts added two more early on in the second-half but Lewes scored a consolation late on through Alex Laing only for Town to have the final word as Robbie Rees made it 5-1.
In Sky Bet League Two Josh Laurent was a substitute as Newport County picked up a battling point away at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday. Terry Butcher's side, still without a win this season, could have won it late on through the on-loan Brentford midfielder but his effort flashed wide of the upright. The draw means The Exiles continue to prop up the Football League ahead of Saturday's trip to Carlisle United.
Aaron Greene made two appearances this weekend as Boston United enjoyed mixed fortunes in the Vanarama National League North. The left-sided player won the free-kick that saw Boston open the scoring in Tuesday's 3-2 win over Corby Town but gave away a penalty as AFC Fylde scored three goals in four minutes to pick up the victory on Saturday. Defeat to Fylde means that Boston are now 14th in the table ahead of Saturday's cup match away at Gainsborough Trinity.
