Mark Smith endured a frustrating afternoon as Hampton and Richmond suffered a 2-1 defeat away at East Thurrock United in the Ryman Premier League on Saturday. Despite dominating, The Beavers found themselves 2-0 down at the break at Rookery Hill after goals from Ryan Scott and Harry Honesty. A Simon Peddle own-goal gave Borough a lifeline just after the break but try as they might Alan Dowson's side couldn't find a way past an inspired Thurrock backline as the Essex side held on to the win.
