Things looked to be going swimmingly for The Saddlers as they took an early lead through Julien Ngoy and then saw Marcus Maddison miss a penalty for Posh. However, Omar Bogle levelled things up just before the interval and the hosts took the points at an arctic London Road thanks to Jack Baldwin’s second-half strike. Defeat leaves Jon Whitney’s side in 17th, five points above the drop zone, with, weather-permitting, a trip to Southend United next up this weekend.
The three other Bees out on loan will also be hoping their games escape the Beast from the East. Jack Bonham and Carlisle United host Grimsby Town, Ilias Chatzitheodoridis’s Cheltenham Town are at home to Notts County and, in Germany, DSC Arminia Bielefeld and Konstantin Kerschbaumer make the long trip south to 1. FC Heidenheim 1846.
