Will Grigg celebrated promotion success at the end of his season-long loan at Milton Keynes Dons.
Will scored one of the goals at MK beat Yeovil Town 5-1 yesterday, Sunday May 3, to pick up their fifth successive win and their ninth in their last ten.
It was Will’s 22nd goal of the season and his 20th in Sky Bet League One.
With Preston North End losing to Colchester United, the win was enough to push MK up to second in League One and give them automatic promotion.
At the other end of League One Nick Proschwitz played an hour for Coventry City in their vital match against Crawley Town.
Coventry needed to get a point to ensure they avoided relegation and they trailed to fellow strugglers Crawley going in to the last 17 minutes.
But Coventry scored two late on to get the win they needed to avoid the drop.
Richard Lee was not involved for Fulham on the last day of the Sky Bet Championship season on Saturday, May 2, as they lost to Norwich City and Sam Saunders missed out on Wycombe Wanderers’ vital match against Northampton Town due to injury.
However, two more Brentford players were involved in that match.
Nico Yennaris and Alfie Mawson both started to the Buckinghamshire side as they pushed for automatic promotion.
Wycombe needed to win, hope Southend United lost and that Bury did not take three points to clinch automatic promotion.
In the second half, Wycombe were ahead – with Nico scoring to make it 2-0, Southend were behind at Morecambe and Bury were drawing at Tranmere Rovers.
But Bury got the goal they needed and even a stoppage time goal from Alfie, to make it 3-2 after Northampton had pulled it back, was not enough for Wycombe.
Wycombe will now face Plymouth Argyle in the League Two Play-Offs with the first leg, in Devon, on Saturday, May 9.
Brentford have one more player out on loan - Development Squad attacker Montell Moore who is with Danish side FC Midtjylland.
Montell played the last 20 minutes for the Under-19 side at FCM, as they are known, yesterday in a 3-0 win over AaB.
