It was a disappointing weekend for the Brentford players out on loan with two defeats and a draw for the four Bees in the Football League and non-league.
James Ferry and Jermaine Udumaga were both not involved, after their loan moves to Wycombe Wanderers last week, as The Chairboys drew 2-2 at Adams Park against Portsmouth. Gareth Ainsworth's side led 2-0 but were pegged back either side of the break to leave the Buckingshire side ninth in Sky Bet League Two but with games in hand on the sides above them.
Elsewhere in League Two Josh Clarke endured a bad afternoon as he was sent off for two bookable offences inside 40 minutes at The Hive against Mansfield Town. The Bees were already behind by that time and fell further behind in the second-half when Matt Green netted. John Akinde pulled one back for the ten men but a Michael Nelson own-goal ensured that it would be The Stags who took the three points.
In the FA Trophy Hampton and Richmond Borough conceded a 90th minute goal as Maidstone United progressed at The Beveree. Mark Smith and his teammates looked set for at least a replay until Jay May stabbed home from close range to dump Alan Dowson's side out at the Final Qualifying stage.
Three of the Young Bees will be hoping for better tonight as they are in action in league and cup. Wycombe Wanderers travel to Bristol Rovers in the Sky Bet League Two while Hampton and Richmond Borough visit Hayes and Yeading in the Middlesex Senior Cup.
