A quartet of Brentford’s on loan players took a further step towards promotion on Tuesday night with two different teams.
There are three Brentford players – Development Squad defender Alfie Mawson and First Team duo Nico Yennaris and Sam Saunders – on loan at Wycombe Wanderers.
All three played 90 minutes for the Buckinghamshire side in a vital Sky Bet League Two match against Exeter City on Tuesday.
Sam put Wycombe in front but Exeter levelled in the second half.
When the match clocked ticked to the 102nd minute, Sam was fouled and a penalty was awarded.
Former Brentford striker Paul Hayes converted it to give Wycombe the win and leave them third in the League Two table with three games remaining.
A division higher, Will Grigg scored his 20th goal of the season for Milton Keynes Dons against Fleetwood.
The Northern Ireland international striker helped The Dons to a 3-0 Sky Bet League One win and scored the 50th Football League goal of his career in the process.
MK are third in the table, three points behind second-placed Preston North End.
Both teams have four games to play while Swindon Town, who are fourth – three points behind MK, have five to play.
At the other end of the League One table, Nick Proschwitz played 90 minutes for Coventry City against Oldham Athletic.
Coventry struck a stoppage time equaliser to earn a share of the spoils.
The draw leaves them 16th in the table, four points clear of the relegation zone, but many of the teams below them have a game in hand.
None of the other Brentford players out on loan were in action.
Richard Lee was not selected for Fulham as they drew with Rotherham United in a relegation six-pointer last night, Wednesday April 15, while Vanarama Conference Woking – where Development Squad pair Emmanuel Oyeleke and Lionel Stone are on loan – did not play.
Vanarama South Maidenhead United, where Development Squad midfield player Tyrell Miller-Rodney is playing his trade, were also not in action, neither were Godalming Town, where Louis Hutton is on loan.
Danish side FC Midtjylland, where Montell Moore is on loan, also did not have a game this week.
