Lewes dropped into the Ryman Premier Division relegation zone after a 1-0 defeat at home to high-flying Tonbridge Angels. The only goal of the game came two minutes before the break as Luke Blewden's effort evaded Nik Tzanev in goal and found the back of the net. Despite pressing in the second-half Lewes couldn't find a way back into the game as they fell to a fourth straight defeat. It was 18-year-old Nik's fifth start in a Lewes shirt after joining The Rooks last month and he will be looking to add to that on Saturday in their match against fellow strugglers Needham Market.
Josh Laurent was an unused substitute on Tuesday night as Newport County lost 3-0 at home to Crawley Town in Sky Bet League Two. Gwion Edwards scored twice in six first-half minutes and the points were wrapped up by former Brentford striker Matt Harrold just after the hour. The result leaves The Exiles bottom of the Football League, two points off safety, ahead of Saturday's home match against Exeter City.
None of Brentford's three other loan players had fixtures this midweek but they will all hope to be involved this weekend as Aaron Greene and Boston United travel to Nuneaton Town, Daniel O'Shaughnessy and Braintree Town are away at Eastleigh, and Herson Rodrigues Alves' Hampton and Richmond Borough visit Leiston.
