Manny Onariase's time at Cheltenham Town got off to a losing start as Gary Johnson's side were beaten 2-0 away at Colchester United on Monday. The 20-year-old defender joined The Robins on Sunday and went straight into the starting XI for their Sky Bet League Two trip to Essex. The home side took the lead through defender Tom Eastman after ten minutes and the points were secured with six minutes to play as Brennan Dickenson fired home from the edge of the box. The defeat leaves Cheltenham second bottom of the Football League. Next up for Johnson's side is a Checkatrade Trophy tie at home to Leicester City on 10 January before a home game against Accrington Stanley on 14 January.
With Jota, Nathan Fox, and Herson Alves all returning from their loan spells in the past fortnight the only other Bee out on loan is Andy Gogia. With the German leagues currently on their winter break, the next competitive action for Andy is on Sunday 29 January when they face 1.FC Nürnberg.
