Josh Laurent was an unused substitute as Newport County picked up their first win of the season after a 1-0 success away at Carlisle United. Loanee Tyler Blackwood scored the only goal midway through the second-half as The Exiles closed the gap on the sides above them at the bottom of the table.
Daniel O’Shaughnessy was not involved as Braintree Town’s five match unbeaten run came to an end at the hands of Guisley. The visitors scored the only goal of the game with ten minutes to play as Tom Craddock slid home from close range to leave The Iron two points outside the Play-Off places in the National League.
Herson Rodrigues Alves was an unused substitute as Hampton and Richmond Borough scored twice in the final nine minutes to come from behind to beat Merstham in the Ryman Premier Division. The visitors took a first-half lead through Omar Foulkes and when Kieran Murphy was sent off on the hour for The Beavers it looked like the points would be heading back to Surrey. However Jake Rose and Richard Paquette struck either side of Aaron Rhule’s dismissal for the visitors to move Alan Dowson’s side level on points with the Play-Off places.
