Midfielder Lewis Macleod finally made his debut for Brentford at The Amex after an injury-hit start to his career at Griffin Park since his arrival from Scottish giants Rangers in January 2015. Despite this, the Scot looked to the team first rather than his personal milestone.
“I’m happy to be back but at the same time it would have been much better if we had won the game,” said Lewis. “I think the boys know themselves we’re a lot better than that. Now, it’s about bouncing back and hopefully the next game we can be better.”
The 21-year-old was honest in that his brief spell on the pitch was only a glimpse of what Brentford fans could expect from him.
“I could always be better but I’m just glad to be back on the pitch,” said Lewis. “It’s been a long 12, 13 months. I got the call, which I was delighted with and hopefully it’s a small step and in the coming weeks I can do a lot more.”
