Lee Carsley gave his thoughts after Swansea City’s 4-2 Development Squad victory at Griffin Park.
“I thought they had some outstanding individuals,” said Lee.
“Both wide players were really good and were the difference between the two teams.
“At times we played well; playing two games in such a short space of time told in the end, but all in all it’s been a good week.”
Lee commented on the schedule that saw his side play twice in four days.
“It’s good because it’s something they’ll have to get used to if they are going to get in the First Team,” said Lee.
“The Championship is quite rugged with the amount of games you have to play.
“The movement between wide players and full backs was similar to their First Team – we struggled to cope with that at times.
“We’ve been doing that to teams ourselves but we got hit with it a couple of times tonight.
“Overall I’m happy with the lads as they didn’t give up; 4-2 flatters them a little bit.”
Brentford dominated the First Half but couldn’t made the breakthrough.
“They started the second half better than we did but we scored pretty much soon after their second goal and got better as the game went on,” said Lee.
First half we’ve had the better chances – their keeper has made a couple of good saves and if we had gone in at half time one or two up they wouldn’t have had any complaints.”
Swansea are top of the Development League having made extensive investment in their Under-21 squad.
“You can see they’ve been playing together for a few years,” said Lee.
“They made changes from their previous game so it shows what strength they've got in their squad.”
