There are roadworks in both directions on the M6 between Junctions 16 and 19 and Junctions 26 and 27 which have reduced speed limits in place.
Additionally, traffic around the Blackpool area is expected to be busier this afternoon as the Blackpool illuminations are switched on at 6.15pm this evening.
