Deepdale has been the home of Preston North End FC since the club played its first match more than 130 years ago.
Over the past 15 years the 23,408 capacity ground has been completely redeveloped, with four brand new stands.
Away supporters are usually housed in one half of The Bill Shankly Kop end of the ground, behind one goal, and there is room for 3,000 visiting fans.
THE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
It is approximately 227 miles from Griffin Park to Deepdale by road.
The usual route would involve taking the M6 to junction 31 and then the A59 and A5058 to meet Sir Tom Finney Way.
There is no parking at the ground but nearby Moor Park High School offers parking.
The nearest station is Preston, which is just over a mile from Deepdale.
Preston is served by Virgin Trains services from Euston.
The Supporters' Association will be running coaches to every game this season - details of times and prices will be announced in due course.
THE RECENT HISTORY
Preston North End will hope to improve on their fifteenth place finish last season.
They had one of the highest wage bills in League One after their relegation from the Championship in 2011 but will slim down the budget for this campaign as a slew of players have left Deepdale in the summer.
The Lancashire club are one of the Football League's oldest - they were founded as a cricket club in 1862 but did not play their first football match until 1878.
They were founder members of the Football League, were inaugural champions, without losing a game, and won the FA Cup in the same season.
They won the league again the following year and FA Cup again in 1938 but by the mid-1990s they were a fourth tier team and had not been in the top flight for more than 30 years.
But they won the fourth tier title in 1996 and the third tier one in 2000 to establish themselves as a Championship club.
They almost went even better - losing in two play-off finals and two semi-finals.
THE MANAGER
Graham Westley's reign as Preston North End manager has been nothing short of controversial since his appointment in January 2012.
There has been talk of revolt in sections of the playing staff at times last season; his concerns made public after a defeat to Sheffield Wednesday having revealed his tactics were being leaked to opposing teams.
Westley is no stranger to Griffin Park, having watched Brentford as a child and was born locally in Hounslow.
He owns a carpet cleaning business in Richmond-upon-Thames and juggled that with managing Stevenage, where he guided them to back-to-back promotions into League One at his second spell at the club, having also managed them from 2003 to 2006.
Beginning his career at Gillingham as an apprentice, he made two appearances for Queens Park Rangers in the mid 1980s but was released and spent several years as a non-league footballer.
His managerial career started at Kingstonian at the age of 28 before spells at Enfield and Farnborough Town, where bought a controlling interest to become owner-manager in 1999.
He transferred his stake in the club in 2003, joining Stevenage Borough under Chairman Phil Wallace.
THE TOP SCORER
Iain Hulme was Preston North End's goalscorer last season with ten goals in all competitions.
The 28-year-old former Tranmere Rovers, Leicester City and Barnsely striker signed for The Lilywhites in October 2010.
Born in Scotland, Iain plays international football for Canada, having been raised there as a child.
THE KEY MEN
Westley has scoured the lower leagues for this season's squad in addition to making raids on Premiership and Championship clubs.
Shane Cansdell-Sherriff (Shrewsbury Town), John Welsh and David Buchanan (both Tranmere Rovers), Nicky Wroe (Shrewsbury Town), Paul Huntington (Yeovil Town), plus Stevenage pair Scott Laird and John Mousinho (Stevenage), the latter well known to Brentford fans for his three-year stay between 2005-2008.
In addition, David Amoo (Liverpool), Richard Wright (Ipswich Town), Lee Holmes (Southampton), Jeffrey Monakana (Arsenal), and Brian McLean (Dundee United) complete his transfer activity for the present.
Through the out door, Preston have given free transfers to several well known names.
A staggering 15 players have been released, namely: Andreas Arestidou, Ian Ashbee, Aaron Brown, Sean Clucas, Dominic Comrie, Daniel Devine, Jamie Douglas, David Gray, Nicky Hunt, Scott Leather, Michael McLellan, George Miller, Paul Parry, Steven Smith, and Ian Turner.
Striker Neil Mellor was forced to prematurely retire due to a knee injury.
