“I’m used to playing further forward but today I played at right-back,” Josh told iFollow Brentford. “I had to focus on defending first and attacking second. I had to time my runs going forward and focus on the opposite wide man. I’m happy with my performance and happy with the goal”.
Speaking about his second strike of the season – a driven effort through the hands of Vito Mannone - Josh said that he was keen to make up for missed opportunities at Villa Park.
“I had the chance to cut inside, played a one-two with Neal (Maupay) and found myself inside the area. Looking back on the chances I had against Aston Villa I wanted to put things right and get on the scoresheet”.
In a repeat performance of many other games this term, The Bees dominated for long periods without taking maximum points. Josh stressed that the mood in the camp remains positive.
“We’re devastated that we didn’t win. We played well once again and created so many chances, we just couldn’t find a second goal. We’re staying together as a team – a win is due.
“We go again on Tuesday night. Hopefully we can get a win which would be a big boost to the confidence”.
