Josh Bohui has been selected for the England Under-17 squad ahead of next month’s Algarve Tournament in Portugal. The 16-year-old attacker will join up with his teammates later this month before matches against Portugal, Germany and The Netherlands. Steve Cooper’s Young Lions take on host nation Portugal on 5 February before facing Germany two days later and finishing up against The Netherlands on 9 February.
Josh signed a two-year scholarship deal with Brentford last summer after coming through the ranks at Jersey Road. The pacey wide player established himself in the Youth Team as a 15-year-old, scoring twice in 12 appearances for The Bees as they reached the U18 Professional Development League Two Play-Offs last season as well as making his Development Squad debut last campaign. This season Josh is the Youth Team’s top scorer with seven goals in 18 appearances and he has also made six appearances for the Development Squad, scoring against Queens Park Rangers in the U21 Premier League Cup win in October.

He has worked hard for this recognition and it is great to see him achieve it. Seeing a Brentford player in an England squad alongside players from Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United is a massive reward for the work being done throughout the Academy."
