This is James' second Bees assignment of the season with the Isle of Wight official the man in the middle for last month's 3-2 derby defeat at the hands of Queens Park Rangers.
Now in his 11th season as an EFL referee, James' first two Brentford games were both 1-1 draws at Griffin Park, against Lincoln City and Darlington, during Andy Scott's 2008/09 League Two winning season. In total, he has taken charge of 16 Bees games, with Brentford winning three and drawing three.
So far this campaign, James has shown 44 yellow cards in 15 games and awarded four penalties.
