Jake Bidwell said Brentford have to bounce back from their 2-2 draw with Bury.
The Bees extended their current run of form to seven points from seven npower League One games, and no win in four, with the Griffin Park draw.
Brentford dominated the match, taking the lead twice through Harry Forrester and then Marcello Trotta.
But Bury - who defended almost exclusively when the match was level at 0-0, 1-1 and then 2-2 - scored two goals on the break to take a share of the spoils.
Jake, speaking to Bees Player after the match, said the players were disappointed with the result and were conceding “soft” goals.
He said Brentford had to start winning games and quickly.
“Everyone is very disappointed,” said Jake.
“I think we controlled the game well for large periods.
“At the moment it seems we are conceding soft goals that maybe we weren’t a few weeks ago.
“It is up to us to bounce back, and bounce back quickly.
“How we come out of the run will determine where we finish.
“In recent weeks we feel we should be doing better.
“There have been a few screamers against us but when you are conceding two or three goals a game, there has to be something you can do to make it better.
“We have to sort it out quickly.”
Brentford dominated the game completely in the first half; Bury had one shot before the break, but went in at half time 0-0.
Harry Forrester headed a Shaleum Logan cross in early in the second period but Tom Soares got on the end of a long ball to race clear and level up.
Marcello Trotta put The Bees back in front but Nicky Ajose headed a leveller.
Jake said he backed the Brentford squad to start winning again.
Their next game is against Stevenage at Griffin Park on Tuesday.
“We were maybe a little bit disappointed to go in 0-0 but we had to come out in the second half and do the same sort of things,” said Jake.
“We knew we would score sooner or later and we did.
“We identified that they would sit behind the ball and make it difficult for us.
“I think we coped with it well.
“We controlled the game but we have to keep them out at the other end.
“There are a couple of games now where we haven’t got a win.
“We have to put it right, starting on Tuesday, and put it behind us.
“Every team goes through a run.
“A few teams up the top have lost again today.
“How strongly you come out of it will determine where you finish.
“We have a strong squad, with strong character; I back us to put it behind us.”
Jake’s Youth Loan from Everton was extended for a further month earlier this week.
The left back said he thinks he will be here for the rest of the season and was enjoying his time at Griffin Park.
“It has become a formality that I extend,” he said.
“Although it is month by month, I can’t see any reason why it won’t continue to the end of the season.
“Last year I played six months here, I really enjoyed my time.
“I am enjoying playing again.
“I have enjoyed playing week in week out.”
