Speaking to iFollow Brentford, Jaakko said: “I am very happy to be a Brentford player. It is a good club with good staff. It is a great place to be. I think this is the best next step for my career. I didn’t actually know much about the club before I signed but I have learned a lot of things about the history and the game-tactics since I joined. I like the aggressive playing style and I feel that will suit my good shooting skills with my left foot.”
Jaakko made his first-team debut in the Finnish top flight for HJK in October, aged just 16, and is part of the Under-19 setup for his country, where he is a teammate of B Team top scorer Marcus Forss.
On that first-team debut and moving to England, Jaakko said: “It was a fantastic feeling to make my debut at 16 and I really enjoyed it. There are lots of good players here compared to Finland. In Finland, there are some good teams but here everything is class. It is good to have Marcus Forss here to help get me started.”
