Jake Bidwell said Brentford were looking forward to playing Preston North End on Good Friday and continuing their push for promotion.
The Bees were beaten by Swindon Town on Saturday, losing to a first half goal from Louis Thompson.
Jake said Brentford played well in Wiltshire and had chances to win the game.
He said Swindon’s starting formation – 3-4-3 – caused The Bees problems and the Play-Off chasers had shown how good they were.
But he said promotion was still in Brentford’s hands – they are second in Sky Bet League One, seven points clear of third-placed Leyton Orient, with four games remaining.
He added the players were looking forward to facing Preston North End, who are fifth in the table, eight points behind, on Friday.
“We had chances to win the game,” said Jake, speaking to Bees Player: Match Day Live after the Swindon loss.
“We put in a good performance and it is still in our hands.
“We have a big home game to come on Friday.
“We move on to that and we look forward to it.
“Swindon are a good side.
“They set up in an unorthodox formation and caused us problems.
“They are still pushing for the Play-Offs and still will be.”
Jake said Brentford felt a little hard done by with some of the decisions made by referee Brendan Malone.
He gave the home side a penalty, which David Button saved, and denied The Bees for similar appeals.
Mr Malone also sent off Adam Forshaw for two yellow cards handed out in the space of 90 seconds.
“I don’t think there was much contact for the penalty,” said Jake.
“He threw himself down.
“David has made a great save, that was justice.
“There were things at the other end that could have been penalties for us but we didn’t look like we would get them.”
Jake added: “Even after the sending off we dominated the game.
“No-one is attaching any blame to Adam; he has had a great season.
“He will be missed on Friday but someone will step in.”
Jake had a message for the Brentford fans.
“Today it is disappointing, we would have liked to have won,” he said.
“But it is going to take something spectacular for us to mess it up.
“We will be ready on Friday.
“We need the support to keep going.
“We know the fans will be disappointed but keep the faith, we will get to where we want to be.”
