David Button said Brentford’s three straight wins was a “massive week” for the Football Club.
The Bees recorded their third victory in a row by beating Shrewsbury Town 1-0 on Saturday.
Marcello Trotta volleyed in the only goal in the first half.
It followed wins over Colchester United and Bristol City and enabled The Bees to climb from mid-table to fifth in Sky Bet League One as the only team in the division to win three out of three in the week.
David, speaking to Bees Player: Match Day Live after the Shrewsbury win, said the players knew they weren’t playing as well as they could earlier in the month but stuck together and were now seeing the rewards.
“It was nice to get the three points,” said the goalkeeper.
“It has been a massive week for us.
“We got nine points and are now right up where we need to be.
“It is a credit to the manager and the boys.
“We have all stuck together.
“In the camp we didn’t think we were doing as well as we could have done but we had the belief it was going to come right.
“We will work hard to keep the momentum going.
“We are all upbeat.
“It has been a great week but no-one is getting carried away.”
Brentford dominated most of the match on Saturday and created enough chances to have won by more than a solitary goal.
Shrewsbury were largely limited to long-range shots and David praised those in front of him.
“The first 30 minutes we opened them up,” he said.
“We played really nice football.
“We were a bit open at the back at times but it is lovely to be a part of.
“We need to make sure we get the results as well.
“We defended really well and I didn’t have too much to do.
“I felt I had a solid game.”
George Saville also spoke to Bees Player: Match Day Live after the match.
He said Brentford played really well.
“It was a good performance by the boys,” said the midfield player.
“We played really well, especially in the first half, and in the second half it was about getting the three points.
“We were very comfortable on the ball and moved it quickly.
“It was a really good performance and we should have been two or three up.”
George said Brentford expected Shrewsbury to be more defensive than they were and it suited The Bees that it was an open game.
“We felt they would sit off and be deeper,” he said.
“We worked this week on trying to break teams down.
“It suited us that it was so open.
“Second half was different.
“We saw less of the ball but coped with it well.
“You can’t dominate for 90 minutes.
“We wanted to make sure we got three points.”
David has been in and out of the team in the past six weeks.
He missed three games through suspension and then picked up an injury that caused him to sit out the win at Bristol City on Tuesday.
Richard Lee played in those four games and David said his fellow stopper had been very supportive.
David added Richard had done all he could to help after mistakes in recent games had cost Brentford goals.
“Richard is a great guy and I owe big thanks to him for being so supportive with what has happened over the past few weeks,” said David.
“He has been the ultimate professional.
“He can’t do enough to help.
“I enjoy working with him.”
George spoke to Bees Player: Match Day Live about his time at Brentford.
He joined The Bees on loan from Chelsea in the summer and said he loved it at Griffin Park.
“Playing week in, week out is the main thing,” he explained.
“No footballer is happy when they are not playing.
“When you are playing in a winning team, everything else in your life seems to go well.
“I love it here.
“The fans are great, so are the boys, the staff are great and we are a good side.
“We are playing good stuff.
“Two or three weeks ago we were mid-table and struggling a little.
“We have showed great character and stuck together.
“Now we are fifth and are not too far off the top.
“Hopefully they will look over the shoulders and be worried.”
