There was one win and one defeat for the two Brentford players involved in international action over the past 48 hours.
Daniel O'Shaughnessy played 90 minutes for Finland's Under-21s as they lost 1-0 in their friendly match with Poland in Bydgoszcz on Wednesday night. It was Daniel's 13th Under-21s cap to add to his two senior caps earned earlier this year. The only goal of the game came just after the half hour as a left-wing cross was headed home.
Ian Carlo Poveda and England's Under-16s got their Montaigu Tournament title defence off to a winning start after a 1-0 victory over Russia on Tuesday night. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder started for Dan Micciche's Young Lions in Brétignolles sur Mer as they took the points thanks to a second-half goal from Reading's Daniel Loader. England are in action again this evening against the United States of America. The match will kick-off at 6pm UK time and can be watched live here.
As well as Ian Carlo there are two more Brentford players in action this evening for their country. Sergi Canos and Spain get their Elite Qualifying Round campaign for this summer's Under-19 European Championship underway against Greece while Lasse Vibe's Denmark face a home game against Iceland in Herning.
