Alan Judge was an unused substitute as the Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 away in Bosnia-Herzegovina in their 2016 European Championship Play-Off First-Leg last night. Ireland took the lead through Robbie Brady late on but Edin Dzeko struck five minutes from time to send the two teams to Dublin for the Second-Leg level. Martin O'Neill's side will now qualify for next year's tournament in France with a goalless draw or win when the two sides meet at The Aviva Stadium on Monday.
Daniel O'Shaughnessy played the full 90 minutes as Finland's Under-21s lost 2-0 away in Austria in their Under-21 Euro 2017 qualifying match in Vienna. The match looked to be heading for a draw but The Austrians struck twice in the final 13 minutes to extend their 100 per cent record in Group Seven of qualifying. The result leaves Finland third in the Group with nine points from five matches, three points behind the unbeaten duo of Austria and Germany.
John Swift was an unused substitute as England's Under-21s drew 0-0 away in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Thursday. The point moved England to the top of qualifying Group Nine ahead of Monday's match at home to second-placed Switzerland at Brighton and Hove Albion's American Express Stadium.
