Martin Fillo gave his first Bees Player interview and described his delight in joining Brentford, saying “I think it’s a very good club; I’m pleased to be here because the players are good, and it’s a challenge for me to be part of this club.
“It’s a big chance to play in England, and I think it’s a dream of every boy, because the fans love football so much, it’s a religion here, so big; that’s why I wanted to come and see it."
Fillo joins the Club, with International honours for the Czach Republic for his craft down the right wing, adding “I’m a winger, a very hard working player; I like to work for the team and win games.”
The 27-year-old described his surprise at the standard already on show from his week in Germany, saying “I’ve been shocked, the players are really good, and the training was really tough, but I know the league will be very hard, so we just have to prepare; I understand why the training is so intense and tough.”
This is Martin’s second spell under Uwe Rösler, having played under him for Viking Fotballklubb in Stavanger, saying “I know him from Norway and if I work hard in training he will give me a chance, so that’s why I came here.”
The winger told Bees Player his was ready for the fight in League One, adding “in the Czech Republic it was different because we were a really good team and always controlled the ball; we ran the match and had our own tempo so didn’t have to work so hard.
“I understand it’s going to be hard, difficult, with lots of running; I’m not afraid and ready for it.”
