Harlee Dean gave his reaction to the draw at Leeds United, which Brentford dominated and can consider themselves unfortunate not to win in front of a noisy Elland Road crowd of 25,126.
“[It’s an] intimidating atmosphere,” said Harlee.”Especially I imagine for the new boys who haven’t experienced anything like this.”
Harlee spoke of his frustration of not being able to keep a clean sheet in the game.
“The gaffer and Roy [Hendriksen] have been doing defensive shape with us,” said Harlee. “I think it’s starting to pay off now.
“We should have had a clean sheet today. It’s a shame about the mistake, but we’ve all made them and it’s about learning from them, and Woodsy will. We’re a team and we’ve got to stick up for each other and go again.”
The 24-year-old defender praised new signing Marco Djuricin, who scored on his Brentford debut.
“He took it confidently,” said Harlee. “It’s nice to see a striker who’s going to be in front of goal in a one versus one and put it in. It’s nice to have a different option, someone who’s going to run in behind. It’s better for the manager now; he’s got some players in, which is what I think we needed and he’s got a few options now.”
