Unless heavy rain falls on Griffin Park this afternoon, Brentford’s Sky Bet League One match against Bristol City this evening, Tuesday January 28, will go ahead as planned.
Supporters will be aware that vast amounts of rain have fallen in West London in the past few weeks.
The playing surface is currently very wet but is, in the opinion of Brentford FC staff, playable.
As such, tonight’s fixture – which is schedule to kick-off at 7.45pm – will go ahead.
However, supporters should be aware that if there is sustained rainfall in TW8, the match is likely to be in doubt.
It is not thought the playing surface can take much more rain.
The Brentford FC ground staff will be working on the pitch all day and have been using a water removal vehicle – better known as a blotter – to clear surface liquid.
However, some areas of the playing surface are too soft to use the blotter on.
Should rain start to fall in Brentford, putting the match in doubt, the Club will update supporters through all official media channels.
For clarification, there is NOT currently a pitch inspection planned and, unless conditions change, the match will go ahead.
