This Saturday's game against Cardiff City will celebrate women at the game and shine a spotlight on our women footballers. Over the course of the week, we will be sharing the stories of some of our women footballers and staff, continuing this afternoon with Brentford WFC Development Team captain, and life-long Bees fan, Charlotte Tanner:
Position: Centre-back
When did you start playing football? When I was little, my dad used to take me to the local leisure centre to a football school. I was the only girl.
How did you get into football? My dad took me along to watch Brentford from the age of three. I would sit in the New Road Stand with my colouring book. It stuck from there!
Who is your biggest inspiration in football? Rio Ferdinand, both as a player and off the pitch. I like to think I go above and beyond to support the girls/ladies on the team on and off the pitch.
What’s your earliest playing memory? Learning how to turn at the football school every Thursday
How long have played for Brentford? This is my sixth season and still no goals. Oh actually I'm on minus one now.
What other clubs have you played for? Colne Valley and for Roehampton University.
Which teams (male, female, or both) do you support? Life-long Brentford fan and always will be.
Favourite male player? Rio Ferdinand
Favourite female player? Alex Scott
Favourite thing about Brentford Women’s? The close family that it is. My motto for us these last two seasons has been 'One team playing in two leagues'
Best moment/memory from playing? Becoming Captain for Brentford Womens FC and being lucky enough to play at Griffin Park. That was a dream come true. Also, the ladies that have joined Brentford over the last few years who have turned into life-long friends.
