Brentford's Futsal side played their latest game against Chelsea in Barking last Wednesday.
In a thrilling ‘A’ derby, it was the Blues who came out on top with a winner with seconds to go.
Brentford started the game with a good tempo and the movement on the rotations was excellent.
The Bees were enjoying a lot of the ball but not getting through a well organised Chelsea defence.
Abas Ali, returning to the Bees line up after injury proved a threat all game.
It was Ali who scored a toe poke finish, three minutes from the interval to give Brentford a deserved lead.
Charlie Rose, Brentford’s goalkeeper, was called into action and had to make several key saves to stop Chelsea from levelling.
With ten minutes to go Brentford were in good possession of the ball when a mistake meant that The Blues Joshua Caulcrick won the ball and finished a one one one againt Rose.
To both team’s credit, they went for the win. Bees squandered several possessions and also hit a post.
The decider came in the last minute when Idris Animashaun stole in and scored with 40 seconds to go giving the Bees no chance to reply.
It was a high quality game of Futsal and Brentford were unfortunate not to gain at least a point.
Luis Melville, Head Brentford Futsal Coach said: "Undoubtedly, this was our best performance of the season and whilst it is understandable for the lads to feel disappointed, there was so much to take out of that game that was positive."
Brentford's ‘B’ team found themselves 2-0 down within four minutes of the start of the game with a double from Reis Dunkley.
Bees keeper Saki Shire was forced to make a couple of very important saves just before half time to ensure that Chelsea did not increase their lead.
This was a key message at the time out taken earlier for Brentford to stay in the game.
Brentford started to assert themselves more in the second half, and a goal came about with eight minutes to go, when skipper Mason Roseboom found Alfie Hipwell with a cross-court pass.
Hipwell then found the bottom left hand corner of the net from 15 metres, which gave the keeper no chance.
The Bees rescued a point when goalscorer Alfie Hipwell’s intended aerial pass was headed into his own net by a Chelsea defender with two minutes to go.
Brentford's Futsal Club next fixtutres are against Crawley Town ‘A’ and Peterborough United ‘B’ on Wednesday, March 11 at Barking.
The Club are recruiting for the next group of students starting in September 2015.
