The Futsal Bees take to the court again in a FLT Futsal League ‘A’ team match against Southend United with a ‘B’ team fixture to follow.
The scholars have been busy not only with their education but assisting in the 125th anniversary Brentford FC football tournament.
Next month 10 teams representing Hounslow, Ealing, Richmond, Hillingdon and Spelthorne will play at Griffin Park in The Grand Finals.
The boys also had a visit to the venue known as ‘The Box That Rocks’, during the London 2012 Olympics, on Sunday 19th April, for a Futsal friendly against Escolla Futsal Academy.
It was a huge highlight for the boys prior to a FA Futsal Super League match.
Playing at The Copper Box with members of Baku United Futsal Club (England’s UEFA Futsal Cup representatives) watching spurred them onto a fine performance against a team coached by Brazilians.
The Bees lost 7-4 but drew very positive feedback from the watching players.
The ‘A’ team have been unfortunate with injuries and illness over the last 2 weeks with Brad Scott, Louis Dailey and Abas Ali all missing for the fixture against Southend.
Brentford top scorer Frankie Finn will be looking to add to his 12 goals to date.
Mason Roseboom will lead the Bees against the Shrimpers having spent this week working on transitions.
Head Coach, Luis Melville speaking after Tuesday’s training session commented: ‘Tactically, it will be a big test against Southend.
"If we can produce the type of Futsal we did against Escolla Futsal Academy at The Copper Box then it should make for a very entertaining game’.
A win or draw will keep Brentford in the top half of the table.
Brentford FC Futsal Club will be holding trials for their next group of Futsal BTEC Scholars on Tuesday 26th May 2015.
