Wednesday come to Griffin Park with four points from four games, how have the team been playing so far this season?
In the last two defeats the team didn’t play to the level that people have come to expect from Wednesday. Against Burton Albion it was difficult as we lost a couple of players to injury and Burton played really well. Against Leeds United last week, we didn’t take our chances in the first-half and Leeds took theirs in the second-half. We picked up four points from our first two matches against the recently relegated sides in Aston Villa and Newcastle United. Wednesday were desperate to make a quick start as that was what let us down last season. I don’t think the Play-Off defeat has had any effect on how we have started the season, I think we just haven’t played to the high level fans have come to expect.
There have been some big name additions over the summer at Hillsborough, what have the fans made of the new faces?
Wednesday have brought in seven new players and are still looking to add a couple more. Steven Fletcher is a big name. He has never played at Championship level before this season. He’s spent his whole career in the Premier League or Scottish Premier League. He is yet to get off the mark but once he gets his first goal you can see him going on a run. We also haven’t seen the best yet of Almen Abdi as he is still working on his fitness. In the long run I think he will prove to be a very good addition.
It's also fair to say it hasn't been the best start to the season for last year's star man Fernando Forestieri after he refused to play in the draw with Norwich City.
Fernando Forestieri came off the bench at Burton and started at the weekend. His situation was something that the club could have done without but they have made up. Fernando had a couple of great chances to score against Leeds. He still has some making up to do to the fans but everyone wants to forgive and forget as he is still the stand-out player in the squad.
After reaching the Play-Off Final last season, what do the fans expect this time around?
Expectation levels have really risen since coming so close last season. It is our fifth season back in the Sky Bet Championship and every year we have finished higher than the year before. To do better than that this season would mean finishing in the top five. The squad looks in good shape even though we haven’t had the start that we’ve been looking for. Fans are expecting big things from the team this season and the minimum would be to finish in the top six.
And finally, how do you see Saturday's game going?
In each of the last two seasons we have kept 17 clean sheets and that is going to be key in getting the three points this weekend. We did the double over Brentford last season and, even though you have started well at home, I can see a narrow Sheffield Wednesday win. I am going for 2-1, like last season.
