What has Rotherham's start to the season been like?
We made a fast start to the season and were 2-0 up inside 20 minutes at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers on the opening day. However, they came back to draw 2-2 and since then we have lost three straight games. It is very early days and some of the football we have played has been very good to watch. The fans are just hoping the wins will come soon.
What does an Alan Stubbs side look like?
The style of play this season has been very different to what was played under Neil Warnock. Towards the end of last season it wasn’t pretty but it was very effective. We looked to get the ball out of our area as fast as possible. Under Alan Stubbs we have been playing a much better passing game. They are looking to get the ball down and play it out from the back. A couple of times we have given the ball away needlessly and that is putting us under pressure but that will come in time.
The Millers have been very busy in the transfer market this summer, which new faces have stood out so far?
Will Vaulks, who we signed for a decent sum of money from Falkirk, has made a very promising start to his time with us. He scored a wonderful, 25 yard curling effort against Wolves and is very good on the ball. He is also very competitive in the central midfield. Centre-back Dominic Ball arrived from Tottenham Hotspur, he is very good on the ball and can spot a pass. There is also Isaiah Brown from Chelsea. He hasn’t played much for their first team but has been an England Youth International all the way through and he looks exciting on the wing.
The New York Stadium is an intimidating stadium, how important will home form be this season?
Our home form this season will be crucial. We have to get points at home as we aren’t going to get many points away from home at the bigger clubs in the league. The New York Stadium is a cracking stadium for me. It only holds 12,000 so it is full almost every week and that helps to make a great atmosphere.
Many pundits have predicted a season of struggle this season, is that something which has riled the fans?
We have been written off by people every season we have been in the Championship. We were down in many people’s eyes before that fantastic run under Neil Warnock at the end of last season. Even though we only have one point so far the fans are happy with the style of football and will give it time to come together. Our last two matches were away at Aston Villa and Brighton and Hove Albion so they aren’t the kind of matches we are going to get points from. With all due respect to Brentford, Saturday’s match is the kind of match that we will be targeting to win. Rotherham’s season will stand or fall on how we do at home against teams like Brentford.

I never like to back against Rotherham so I will go for a 2-1 home win.
