Brentford has teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice throughout the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.
Scout will use its expertise to provide information, advice and Gameweek picks that could help you stay on top of your mini-leagues.
Best of the Bees
Saturday saw Keith Andrews’ side pick up their third home win of the season, keeping them sixth in the Premier League table.
Sepp van den Berg (£4.9m) was the Bees’ top-scoring player in Gameweek 9. The defender returned 10 points, a total only four players across the game could better.
Van den Berg added two bonus points and two defensive contribution points to his six points for appearance and clean sheet. Defenders earn defensive contribution points if they register 10 or more defensive actions in a single match, with Van den Berg recording 12 in the victory over Nottingham Forest.
Igor Thiago (£7.8m) scored and earned maximum bonus to deliver a nine-point return for his FPL managers.
The forward has now registered an attacking return in each of the last five Gameweeks, totalling two goals and three assists.
Kristoffer Ajer (£4.5m), Michael Kayode (£4.6m) and Caoimhín Kelleher (£5.0m) all registered clean-sheet points.
Ajer finished the game on eight points after also reaching the defensive contribution threshold, while Kayode returned five after losing a point for his yellow card. Kelleher collected seven points after also earning one bonus point.
Vitaly Janelt (£5.0m) also registered defensive contribution points in Gameweek 9. Midfielders must record 12 defensive actions, made up of clearances, blocks, interceptions, tackles won and ball recoveries, to earn the additional two points, with Janelt registering an impressive 15.
Dango Ouattara (£6.2m) registered an attacking return for the second successive league game. His assist and clean-sheet point helped the midfielder to six FPL points, while Jaidon Anthony (£5.9m) came off the bench to claim Brentford’s second assist of the game and return four points.
The Spotlight
Across the Brentford squad, only Janelt has registered more defensive contribution points than Ajer this season.
Ajer ranks joint-fourth among all defenders for defensive actions, having registered an impressive 94 in the opening nine matches. Those have resulted in eight defensive contribution points, although it could easily have been more.
The Norway international finished the games against Bournemouth, Chelsea and Aston Villa just one action short of the threshold.
Ajer has also registered four attempts on goal this season, all of which have come from inside the box, with one resulting in a goal.
The defender has created four chances for his team-mates and, with three clean sheets already secured in the league, has the potential to provide managers with returns at both ends of the pitch.
Best of the Rest
Just seven players reached double figures in Gameweek 9, led by 15-point Jan Paul van Hecke (£5.0m).
The defender combined a goal with a clean sheet against Crystal Palace, taking him to two goals, three defensive contribution returns and four clean sheets from his last seven appearances.
Staying in north London, Ezri Konsa (£4.7m) helped Arsenal to a third successive clean sheet. He has now collected 33 points across his last three outings.
A total of 1.6 million managers benched Bart Verbruggen (£4.6m) in Gameweek 9, only to see Brighton and Hove Albion secure a shock clean sheet away at Manchester City.
Verbruggen’s team-mate Maxim De Cuyper (£5.4m) registered nine points, the same total as Chelsea attacker Morgan Rogers (£8.1m), Bournemouth forward Evanilson (£6.4m) and Aston Villa’s Nicolas Jackson (£7.0m).
Jackson broke the Fantasy record for transfers in during a single Gameweek, immediately rewarding his 2.37 million new managers by scoring against Fulham.
He was primarily brought in for Chelsea’s injured João Pedro (£7.7m), whose 3.35 million sales also set a new FPL record.
In Demand
Bournemouth duo Evanilson and Marcus Tavernier (£6.6m) continue to prove popular with FPL managers ahead of the Cherries’ promising fixture run.
Evanilson has scored in each of the last four Gameweeks, while Tavernier has already registered four double-digit returns this season.
All Gameweek 10 transfers, chip activations and starting XIs must be locked in by Friday’s 6.30pm GMT deadline.
Captaincy
Although Erling Haaland (£15.8m) saw his seven-match scoring streak come to an end on Saturday, the Norwegian is still likely to be the most-captained player in Gameweek 10.
Manchester City next visit Nottingham Forest, who have kept just one clean sheet in the Premier League this season.
Some managers may be tempted to opt for a differential captain.
An Arsenal defender such as Konsa, Gabriel Magalhães (£8.0m) or Riccardo Calafiori (£5.9m) against Hull City could be a good option, as could Chelsea duo Rogers and Cole Palmer (£9.8m) against Sunderland, or Alexander Isak (£9.2m) against Crystal Palace.
