The Football League has published its annual report detailing what each of its 72 member clubs spent on agents' fees during the 2013/14 season.
Brentford Football Club committed £253,236 to agents last season - July 1 2013 to June 30 2014 - spread across 67 transactions.
Sporting Director Frank McParland said: “Brentford Football Club will always, and indeed must always, review any such expenditure on agency fees.
“However, as any club seeks to move forward and bring a higher quality of player in to the squad, the involvement of agents becomes ever more prevalent.
“That is the way football works.
“In our case, we seek to ensure we adhere to strict percentages and also that we work only with individuals who conduct their business in the appropriate manner.
“It is important that all of our supporters know that this very important area of expenditure is closely monitored and controlled to the best of our ability.”
