Senior Football League representatives were among the guests that helped Brentford celebrate a special milestone last week and they made a special presentation to the Club.
The Brentford Football Club 125 Year Anniversary Dinner was held at The Hurlingham Club last Thursday, November 20, with some of the top names in English football in attendance.
Football League Chairman Greg Clarke and Chief Executive Shaun Harvey were there along with England Manager Roy Hodgson and Independent FA Chairman Greg Dyke, a host of Bees legends and current Brentford Manager Mark Warburton, Assistant Manager David Weir and Club Captain Kevin O’Connor.
At the dinner Greg Clarke made a special presentation to Brentford Chairman Cliff Crown.
He presented a framed image from a historical Griffin Park moment – a picture from Brentford v Manchester City in April 1937, a game the visitors won in front of 32,000 in TW8.
Mark Devlin, Brentford FC Chief Executive, said: “I would like to thank Greg Clarke for coming to our dinner, along with Shaun Harvey, and presenting the Club with a memento of something from our history.
“We will give the frame pride of place in the Board Room at Griffin Park and look for a suitable location for it at our new stadium.”
The Football League also turned over much of their social media to Brentford last Thursday.
The league published a series of pictures which can be seen on their Facebook page here.
