Five Brentford players could get a taste of international football today.
Moses Odubajo and Chris Long are part the England Under-20 squad for a friendly match against Mexico while Stuart Dallas and Will Grigg are in the Northern Ireland group for a match against Scotland and Daniel O’Shaughnessy could play for Finland’s Under-21 side against Kazakhstan.
England’s Under-20 friendly will be played at The Hive, home of Barnet FC, tonight, Wednesday March 25, and will kick-off at 7.45pm.
Admission will be £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions.
Mexico are favourites for the Under-20 World Cup, which will be held in New Zealand later this year.
Moses will be hoping to represent his country for the first time while Chris has represented England at every level from Under-16 to Under-20, playing 13 games and scoring five goals.
Chris, who is on loan at Brentford from Everton, went to the Under-20 World Cup in 2013, playing in two of England’s three matches.
Further north, Northern Ireland will be at Hampden Park, in Glasgow, for an international friendly.
Brentford attacker Stuart Dallas and striker Will Grigg, currently on loan at Milton Keynes Dons, are in the squad for the match.
The match will be build-up to a UEFA European Championships qualifying fixture against Finland on Sunday, March 29.
Northern Ireland lost 2-0 to Romania away from home in their last qualifier in November.
It was their first defeat after a fine start to their Group F campaign that saw them win their first three games.
They started the campaign with a 2-1 win in Hungary in September before beating Faroe Islands at home.
They then won 2-0 in Greece in October and sit second in the table, behind Romania
Northern Ireland have nine points and are two ahead of Hungary with Finland three points further back.
The top two in the group will definitely qualify for a place in the finals in France in the summer of 2016.
Stuart played for Northern Ireland at Under-23 level against Portugal before making his full international debut as a substitute against Wales in May 2011.
He has also represented Northern Ireland at Under-21 level.
Will has made five appearances for Northern Ireland, three of which have been since arriving at Griffin Park.
He has also played for Northern Ireland at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
Daniel, meanwhile, flew out to join up with the Finland Under-21 squad yesterday after playing for Brentford’s Development Squad against Leeds United.
The central defender has been a regular in the Finland Under-21 squad over the past year.
He has made five appearances and scored in their last match, a win over San Marino.
Finland will play Kazakhstan in an under-21 friendly this afternoon.
