Brentford’s on loan attacking midfield player Alex Pritchard has been called up to England’s Under-21 squad.
The 21-year-old is on loan at Griffin Park from Tottenham Hotspur for the duration of the 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season.
He has been named in the England Under-21 squad for two friendly matches later this month.
England will play Portugal next Thursday, November 13, at Burnley’s Turf Moor ground.
They will then travel to France for another friendly on Monday November 17.
The matches will act as build-up to the European Under-21 Championships.
England reached the finals with a Play-Off win over Croatia last month.
They will join hosts Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Serbia and Sweden in the summer tournament.
Alex has two England Under-21 caps, earned earlier this season, and three at Under-20 level.
He made his Spurs debut on the final day of the 2013/14 season against Aston Villa, appearing as a late substitute.
Alex spent a short spell on loan at Peterborough United in 2012/13 and the whole of last season at Swindon Town.
After scoring Brentford’s third goal in a Sky Bet Championship win away at Nottingham Forest last night, Alex has made 16 appearances for The Bees and scored three goals.
