Young Brentford goalkeeper Ellery Balcombe's first involvement with the England set-up has seen Neil Dewsnip's Under-18s take the title at this week's mini-tournament in the North West. After Thursday's 2-1 victory over Italy at Fleetwood's Highbury Stadium, the Young Lions made light work of Israel last night at The Globe Arena in Morecambe. Ellery was not involved in the 18-man matchday squad but watched on as a brace from Sheffield Wednesday's George Hirst and strikes from Morgan Feeney, Reiss Nelson, and Jaden Brown wrapped up a comfortable win.
After this week's mini-tournament Dewsnip's group have a packed schedule ahead of them with a trip to Sweden in October before they round out the year with a mini-tournament against Poland and France. Next year will see the team head off to Qatar for a series of games with Argentina their final port of call later on in 2017.
